Abacus is offering workshops this summer through the RISE Program for students insterested in learning about building robots for competitive robotics.
An introductory robotics workshop for students interested in learning to build various robotics components. Each session aims to prepare students for joining a competitive robotics club in the future. This summer ARC is providing 3 different workshops to teach students to build and program drivetrains, lifts, and intakes.
Location: WestMarket Clubhouse, 6110 Popes Creek Pl, Haymarket, VA 20169
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Duration: 2 hours per meeting, 4 hours per workshop

Days: Thursdays and Fridays
Grade: 5 – 7
Cost: $150 per workshop
Session Dates: 07/13/2023 & 07/14/2023
Students will learn about the different drivetrains used in competitive robotics, and how to choose the best option. Students will learn to build a simple base with their group in the 1st session. In the 2nd session, students will learn to write autonomous and user-control programs using text-based programming.
Session Dates: 07/20/2023 & 07/21/2023
Students will learn about the different lifts used in competitive robotics, and how to choose the best option. Students will learn to build a simple lift with their group in the 1st session. In the 2nd session, students will learn to write autonomous and user-control programs using text-based programming.
Session Dates: 07/27/2023 & 07/28/2023
Students will learn about the different claws used in competitive robotics, and how to choose the best option. Students will learn to build a simple claw with their group in the 1st session. In the 2nd session, students will learn to write autonomous and user-control programs using text-based programming.
