We took our robotics building program to the Gainesville Senior Center. Members of our Competitive Team, Ironmechs, were on hand to interact and work with the residents in building the robots. This allows for cross-generational sharing and interaction. We believe that building, programming and driving robots can be learned at any age.
Older adults can be intimidated by technology. Taking part in robot building, programming and driving will help to reduce this barrier and enable seniors to stay current with changes in technology.
