IronMechs 2.0 99157B
VEX V5
IronMechs 2.0 (99157B) is the second competitive team of Abacus Robotics, formed as the program expanded and built around a roster of students from Haymarket, Manassas, and the surrounding area. The team began at the middle school level and has since grown into a high school team, competing during the academic school year in the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC), reaching the state championship each season and attending the world championship twice, winning awards at both events.
The team's identity centers on versatility and disciplined engineering process. Each design decision is documented and tested against the season's game objectives, allowing the team to defend its choices in judging and refine them on the field. After each competition, the team reviews driver performance, autonomous routines, and subsystem reliability, then makes the necessary adjustments for the next event.
