Robotics

Competitive and educational robotics for students grades 4–12.

Abacus Robotics anchors our work around the VEX Robotics platform and 3D printable robotics using the HoleyBot platform. Students in grades 4–12 learn to design, build, code, and drive competitive robots through a season of weekly meetings, regional tournaments, and an annual state championship push.

Frequently asked

What is VEX Robotics?

VEX Robotics is a global competitive robotics platform run by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (RECF). Teams design, build, and program robots to compete in an annual game challenge, with regional, state, and World Championship tournaments.

Abacus competes in two VEX divisions: V5 (the high-school metal-build platform) and IQ (the middle-school plastic-build platform). Both run on the same May-to-April competition calendar, with the new game announced each spring at the World Championship.
