Maria Uriyo, PhD, PMP

Maria Uriyo, PhD, PMP is the co-founder and Executive Director of Abacus Robotics and has coached the IronMechs VEX Robotics team since 2015. She believes robotics is a powerful vehicle for learning to solve problems, work in teams, and serve community. Trained as a scientist with experience in the Food Industry and Health Care sectors, she brings research, analytics, and project management skills to every program. Maria is also an Associate Professor at George Mason University and a graduate of Marymount College (now Fordham University), Virginia Tech, and Georgetown University.
