VEXcode VR, will introduce students to the development of programming logic by coding a virtual robot provided within the VEXcode VR environment. The environment uses a block-based coding approach based on Scratch Blocks. With VEXcode VR, students will be challenged to program a variety of autonomous robotics activities. They will become acquainted with the VEXcode VR environment, learn the application of timed programming, loops, if statements and usage of color sensors. The skills gained in this class can be applied to other programming languages such as Javascript. At the end of the course, students complete a given challenge and share it with their instructor and classmates. As a bonus feature, students will be given a peek at the use for VEXcode for programing physical VEX robots.
Enrolled students need to be versed in using common computer operations (e.g. login, screen captures, emailing attachments), internet browser as well as know how to manage files (emailing attachments).
